Alpha Industries x Prototypes

USING WHAT'S THERE

In collaboration with Paris-based label Prototypes, Alpha Industries places its archive in the hands of reconstruction. Developed as part of Prototypes’ Series 08: The Fat of the Land, the project dismantles familiar Alpha garments and reworks archival pieces into new silhouettes that move between rural workwear and experimental streetwear built from what is already there.

Dismantling the archives

At the core of the project is a direct engagement with Alpha’s material history. Flight nylon, bomber constructions and utilitarian details are dismantled and reassembled, shifting garments away from traditional production cycles toward a process shaped by what is already available. The result is clothing that appears assembled rather than manufactured – pieces defined by adaptation, reuse and reinterpretation.

This approach reflects Prototypes’ broader design philosophy, where sustainability meets obstruction: instead of producing entirely new materials, existing garments are treated as starting points for experimentation. By reworking archival pieces and repurposing Alpha stock, the collaboration continues Prototypes’ trajectory toward a more resource-conscious way of making clothes.

The collection centers on reconstructed outerwear and graphic layers. Key pieces include the ALPHA x PROTOTYPES CWU-45 Outline Bomber and the Toggle Bomber, both reinterpretations of classic flight jacket silhouettes assembled from repurposed nylon.

These are paired with utilitarian staples such as the Outline Pant, alongside graphic layers including the Stencil Hoodie, Outline Hoodie, Logo Hoodie, Stencil Tee, Outline Tee, and SL T-Shirt. Accessories complete the lineup with the Bomber Sleeve Bag, constructed from repurposed flight jacket elements, and the Raw Reverse Embroidery Beanie as well as the Raw Beanie Label, reflecting the collection’s inside-out construction language.
